Tonight was a very Merry Bungalow Christmas. We decorated the tree, attempted to listen to some vinyl on the broken record player (eventually resorted to Destiny’s Child Christmas on Pandora), drank some special hot chocolate, and took these lovely pictures. It was great roommate bonding time to say the least. I love these two ladies with my whole entire heart. They mean the world to mean, and I love when we can all be together like this.

Forced. Family. Fun. > The greatest part of Thanksgiving

I know what you’re thinking, “Forced Family Fun” doesn’t really sound all that exciting. But I reassure you it is great, every year, despite the depleting number of participants due to growing older and moving away.

Forced Family Fun consists of partaking in Thanksgiving lunch at Grandma’s house, then proceeding to spend way too much money for a Christmas Tree at the local tree stands. Once we have obtained the tree, we always have a hard time positioning the tree perfectly straight and placing it in the right location. Once we have mastered that we pop Wayne Newton (If you have never heard Wayne Newton Christmas, you really should try it) onto the record player.

We used to string popcorn strands for our tree, but that became too cumbersome, so now we stick to simply decorating it with all the horrible looking hand-made and other silly ornaments we can find.

After the tree is decorated we generally lounge around and feel lazy until it is time for round two at Grandmas for all the leftovers from lunch. Forced Family Fun is so great, and I’m pretty sure that by this time next year we’re going to try and get t-shirts made so that we can all wear them during this lovely little event.

I hope everyone else was able to enjoy their Thanksgiving as much as I did, despite how lazy and tired I feel at this very moment.

Pitt County Fair tonight with my family. All we did was walk around, look at exhibits, eat fried oreos, and laugh at all my dad’s silly jokes. It was absolutely wonderful. You guys- I swear on my life that I said, “Buh Bye” to a little billy goat, and he said “bbyyyyyyeeeee” in that goatish voice of his. It was remarkable. Ask anyone around at the time.
