"Action expresses Priorities" - Ghandi

Colossians 2:21-22

21 “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”?22 These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings”

I was reading this tonight, and it struck a really great chord with me. Yes, we do have all these certain rules and truths about our lives right now, but God has so much more for us. Where as the human rule says “Do not handle!” Jesus is saying handle with care. He calls for us to take on the load of calling others to him, which can sometimes be a heavy burden to handle. But handle it we must.

Our rules say to “do not taste!” but following the rules of Christ means to come and taste all the wonders and glories that he has already given us. To taste of the sweet love and mercy that flows daily from an everlasting cup.

"Do not touch!" but Jesus is saying "see, touch my wounds for which you are free," and he calls us to touch the lives of all those around us.

It’s funny how you can read through a verse a millions times, and then it only takes one time somewhere far off in the distance for it to strike you in a whole new light and you are changed because of it. It’s beautiful really.

In His Love,
